Reporting into the Pre-clinical Manufacturing Lead, the primary responsibility of the Pre-Clinical Manufacturing Specialist is to manufacture GLP and R&D grade vectors. 
This position is a key participant in the day-to-day operation and planning of rAAV vector production related work, with primary responsibility to execute established protocols of manufacturing research and pre-clinical grade rAAV vectors.  The individual in the role will participate in (but not be limited to) manufacturing of rAAV vectors including cell culture, vector production and purification, and rAAV related assays. Additionally, the individual will contribute to the implementation of documentation in order to support research and GLP rAAV vector manufacturing.
This position requires good knowledge and experience with cell culture and good knowledge and skills related to purification of bio-products and related assays. Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment are required. 

  • Hands-on cGLP manufacture in assisting upstream virus production and downstream purification
  • Prepare manufacturing support materials such as media and buffers and equipment preparations
  • Review and revise SOPs and batch records for virus production and purification
  • maintain manufacturing and equipment records
  • Maintain laboratory safety procedures and compliance records
  • Participate in other projects upon request

  • Candidate must be adaptable and capable of working in various areas requiring intellectual and professional approaches.
  • Candidate should have the ability to work accurately, cooperatively with others and pay strict attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment are required.
  • Candidate should additionally have excellent organizational skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, biomedical, chemistry, or engineering required
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with cell culture or protein purification a plus
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skill
  • Must possess thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must understanding of basic cGLP regulations
